Poul Henningsen's most famous contribution to society is probably the Artichoke Lamp, a spherical, plant-like form. Also known as the PH Lamp, it was created in 1958 and expressed his enthusiasm for "functionalism" and the "natural living" that he advocated so passionately. Modern meets classic simultaneously, there's no decorating scheme that this lamp won't illuminate.
